BFC Changemakers Prize launches today in partnership with Swarovski. Courtesy.
The prize, which will be awarded annually, aims to spotlight individuals from all disciplines at any level who are pushing to make positive change within the fashion industry. Entrants will be nominated by their peers for contributions across the BFC’s Institute of Positive Fashion’s (IPF) three different categories: Environment, People or Craftsmanship and Community.
A panel of judges will determine nine finalists. Of them, the three winners — one for each IPF category — will receive a cash prize of £5,000 as well as a specialised mentorship programme supported by the BFC, SWA and selected judges to support individuals in their changemaking achievements. Winners will also be awarded a Swarovski crystal trophy and be listed on the BFC website.
This year’s judges include BFC chief executive Caroline Rush, Swarovski creative director Giovanna Engelbert, British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, editor in chief of Dazed Ib Kamara and model and activist Munroe Bergdorf, among others. Applications for entrant nominations open today.
